Breaking: Former House Of Representatives Member Resigns Membership Of PDP
Former Member House Of Reps and Chieftain of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, Hon. Shehu Bawa popularly known as ABG has resigned his membership of the party.
In a letter dated 30 June, 2023 addressed to the Chairman of his Badarawa / Malali Ward, ABG said he was leaving PDP.
” This is to convey my withdraw from membership of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with effect from the date of this notice.
” I seize this opportunity to express my appreciation to Executives, Stakeholders and members of the party for their support during my stint at the party, ” he said.
While reacting to the development a stakeholder of PDP in Badarawa Ward, Musa Haruna justified ABG’s action of severing ties with the party, saying the politician had done so much in growth and development of the party and deserved a high level of recognition and respect in the party.
Haruna lamented how the Ex Federal legislator was unfairly treated at party’s primary.
” This was a loyal party man who expended his time, energy and resources to ensure our party remains strong and formidable.
” The results and recommendations of the repositioning assignment he was given were the panacea being used by the party as it prepares for 2023 general election.
” He spent months going round and putting one and two together as he carried out the tedious assignment of finding answers to internal friction that was almost tearing apart our party and her members and becoming a threat to our quest of taking back power at important elective levels in the state.
” Such a man doesn’t deserve to be treated with disrespect and scorn.
” We all were aware of how he was approached by other parties to abandon his party, saying the party he has dedicated so much to build would leave him high and dry.
” He resisted all sorts of overtures extended to him, now those people wooing him to join them have been proven right.
“We all know how much ABG invested in the party during the kaduna north local government elections in the state, he was with them all through the campaign period and even came up strategies in how to win the elections from wards to the local government level.
“With this development of aggrieved dedicated members of PDP leaving the party it would go a long way to show reward and loyalty has no place in the party.
” If I were in his shoes, I would have long time ago taken this hard decision for my sanity.
” You don’t force yourself on people who don’t want you anymore, ” he said.
