Adamawa Born Philanthropist, Hamisu Idris Medugu has congratulated Mrs Lydia Shehu Jafiya. Mni, FCNA, ACA, PhD who is today sworn in as the newly federal permanent secretary from Adamawa State.

Dr Lydia who held from Gulak, Madagali Local Government Area of the state Hamisu is another pride of the state.

Mrs Jafiya took an oath of office today before cheering members of her family, friends and well wishers Medugu described the event as another glory of Madagali has come.

“I say a big congratulations to one of the heroines of our land, Mrs Jafiya has done proud by being a celebrated senior civil servant and a cum laude administration skills.

” We celebrate you our Mother, Sister for adding up glory to our dear community of Gulak in Madagali and the state at large.’ Idris said

Lydia Shehu Jafiya was born on 30th July 1967 in Gulak, Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State to Late Pastor Dzugwahi Haliru and Mama Sidayu Milgawa. Her elementary education started at Central Primary School Gulak between 1974 and 1980. She attended Federal Government College, Jos, and obtained the West African School Certificate in 1985. She then proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, graduating with a degree in Business Administration (Banking and Finance) in 1989. She crowned this up with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 1994, from the same university. Her National Service was in 1990 with Afribank Plc, Abuja.

Lydia joined the Federal Civil Service as Finance officer II on 12th December 1990 at the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing. As a pool staff under the Office of Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF), she has served in various capacities. Among her prominent postings were Assistant Director, Accounts, The Presidency (OSSAP-MDGs); Deputy Director, Budget, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Director, Finance and Accounts, Pensions Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD).

Mrs. Jafiya is an alumnus of the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, having attended the Senior Executive Course (SEC) 43 in 2021. She is an associate of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN); a Fellow of Certified National Accountants of Nigeria (FCNA); Member, of the National Institute (mni), among others. She has attended several courses, both locally and internationally. Lydia is married with Children. She finds pleasure in reading, traveling, listening to the radio, and mentoring young people.
