I will ensure my zone is connected to the national grid if elected- NNPP senatorial candidate
Mr Bobboi Kaigama, a Former President of Trade Union Congress (TUC) and candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) for Taraba Central Senatorial Zone on Wednesday pledged to senatorial zone is connected the national grid if elected.
Kaigama disclosed this when he appeared on the programme ‘Taraba Correspondent’s Chapel Media Parley, The Road to 2023’ in Jalingo
Kaigama noted that the Taraba central senatorial zone was the only one in the country that was yet to be connected to the national grid, saying the development was inimical to development.
According to him, the central senatorial zone of Taraba would have not just been a blessing to the state but to the entire Nigeria if the natural resources there in were harnessed and put to proper use.
He blamed the lack of electricity and Development in the area on poor representation by those who have been there over the years.
“My zone is the richest but least in development because it is the only senatorial zone that has not been linked to the national grid, a zone that has no university, a zone that has no hospital and other social amenities.
“The central zone is the richest in terms of agriculture, mineral resources and tourism but is the poorest in terms of infrastructure.
“I have gone round the central zone of Taraba and I have seen the cry in the faces of the people, I have served Taraba workers and have served the Nigerian workers, in various capacities, I know the pligth of the people and how to tackle it.
“Nigerians through BVAS would reject the people that have brought pains to them and we are people of intergrity and that was why others and I left the old political parties for the NNPP.
“May decision to represent the central zone at the Senate is to bring initiatives that would impact positively in ensuring youth empowerment and attract meaningful and impacfull development for the people,” he said.
