Kaduna Public Analyst Wants Hameed Ali, Emefiele, Sacked Over Poor Performances

. . . Scores NNPC Group Managing Director High

By Abdulwaheed Olayinka Adubi, Kaduna

Kaduna based political activist cum public affairs analyst , Dr . Muhammed Kailani, has urged president Muhammadu Buhari to relieve comptroller general of Customs , Hameed Ali and Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele over poor performance and plunging the country into economic crisis.

He attributed free fall of the naira to ineptitudes of the CBN Governor, whom he said had no clear vision on how to manage fiscal policies and economic direction of Nigeria.

The activist made the call at a press conference where he explained on a wide-range of issues affecting the nation’s politics and economy .

While speaking during the conference, he said: ” Emiefe was busy trying to succeed Buhari instead of minding his job and core mandate of implementation of the country’s fiscal policies and economic management .

” I call on Mr. President to relieve the CBN Governor of his appointment for causing so much embarrassment to the nation by venturing into politics while still serving as head of the nation’s apex bank .

” Naira is now on a free fall , being exchanged for 400 naira per dollar at official rate , 700 naira and might even nosedive to 1000 naira at parallel market if Emiefele is not given the boot , ” he warned .

While admitting economic and security challenges faced across the country , Kailani scored Buhari high , saying the president had tackled the problem of insurgency and was doing his best to address the issue of banditry in Katsina , Sokoto , Zamfara , Kaduna and Niger states .

He urged Nigerians to cooperate and support Buhari in his drive to provide basic and sustainable critical infrastructure needed for socio-economic growth and development .

On the nation’s energy sector , the activist scored the Group Managing Director of NNPC high for reforming the oil and gas industry , Making it attractive for foreign investors .

He blasted Hameed Ali for criticising the operations of NNPC under the leadership of Kyari , saying the Customs DG had no technical authority to assess a complex field such as the the nation’s oil corporation .

He advised the customs head to direct his energy resolving the issues of the country’s porous borders and cumbersome nature of Excise duties .
