Kebbi outgoing HoS hands over to most senior Permanent Secretary

The Kebbi State Head of the Civil Service (HoS), Alhaji Sufiyanu Garba-Bena, has handed-over the mantle of leadership in the affairs of the state civil service to the most senior Permanent Secretary, Hajiya A’isha Usman.

Hajiya A’isha Usman is the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.

Speaking at a brief handing over ceremony at the Cabinate Office in Birnin Kebbi, the outgoing Head of Service, said his retirement was based on attainment of 60 years of age as stipulated in the civil service rules.

While thanking the state government for giving him the opportunity to effectively and efficiently contribute his quota to the development of the state, Garba-Bena urged the acting head of service to uphold the virtues of tolerance and serve her state diligently in her remaining service months.

“This is the tradition of the civil service, that today, I am handing over to her being the most senior permanent secretary in the state,” he noted.

Garba-Bena, however thanked all civil servants in the state for their support and cooperation which he said, had paved way for the tremendous achievements recorded in the state.

He also appreciated the media for their role and contribution towards the success of his tenure as head of service and urged both the workers and the media to extend similar support to the Acting Head of Service.

Responding, the Acting Head of Service, Hajiya Aisha Usman, thank the state government for finding her worthy to serve as acting head of service and promised to build on the footsteps of the outgoing head of service.

She then solicited the support and cooperation of the civil servants as well as the media to succeed in the remaining period of less than two months to her retirement.
