Ministerial Screening: Groups Root For ElRufa’i, Say Ex- Governor Unjustly Victimized.

A collection of five socio-economic and cultural groups under the umbrella of Tudun Wada Zaria Sustainable Development Association addressed a press conference in Kaduna Thursday morning with a call on individuals involved to clear and confirm Malam Nasiru elRufai as a minister.

The group alleged that there was a conspiracy to deny the former Kaduna Governor from becoming a minister under the present administration, a sad development they noted would deprive the nation the chance of benefitting from competence, experience and tremendous contribution from the former FCT Minister.

Members of the group comprising; Road Transport Employees Association of Nigeria, Tudun Wada Modern Market Development Progressive Association, Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association, Zaria Progressive Animal Sellers and Rearing Multipurpose Cooperative Society and Waje Districts Development Association, Zaria converged on the Secretariat of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna where they chanted the praises of elRufai amidst prepared press release read out by joint secretary of the associations Alhaji Nasiru Ladan.

Ladan said he saw no reason why elRufai should not be cleared and confirmed despite going through rigorous process of screening with various security services and others while other nominees with pending cases with EFCC were confirmed.

“ElRufai remains the best performing governor in the history of Kaduna State based on his good track records and various infrastructure strides across the state.

“We therefore, call on the leadership of the senate to hasten the clearance and confirmation of elRufai in the interest of peace, fairness and justice, “he stated.
