Wike is a distinct personality, can’t be lowered- Kaduna PDP

Following reactions of party stalwarts within and outside the Peoples Democratic Party over Atiku’s choice of a running mate, the Kaduna State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has reiterated the loyalty of Rivers State Governor Barrister Nyesom Wike to the party.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with New Nigerian Newspapers in Kaduna the the Peoples Democratic Party State Chairman and Chairman Forum of PDP State Chairmen in Nigeria Hassan Hyet said Wike never contested for President to be given Vice President slot, neither will he leave the party. Remember he said whatever the outcome of the party Presidential primaries, he is in PDP. Wike is a man of his words, who says his mind and can’t be lowered.

According to Hassan Hyet, “Wike doesn’t play politics with his words. When he say something he means it. He is a distinct personality, Wike has never been involved in anti-Party affairs.”

Hyet maintained that “the convention was a very neat convention. Very transparent, he won because the delegates gave him the votes. Those who loose, loose because deligates didn’t give them the votes. However,
there are talks and reconciliation moves so there is no cause for alarm. As to others who thinks they can cash out of the situation they are taking a path to the bush”

The Chairman pointed that ” it is the character of APC not to be sincere and straight forward. Remember how President Mohammadu Buhari spend 6months without Ministers. Now like his principal, they’re only interested in power
They make laws without knowing the implications.
INEC has no room for temporary running mate, it’s a demonstration of the party failure. You give, you give, you don’t give you don’t give”

On the level of satisfaction by INEC preparedness, Hyet said Nigerians should commend INEC, from all indications INEC has taken a path to decent Elections. This INEC has a listening ear. We are not there yet but I think they have taken a path to decency. INEC extension of voter registration by 60days is highly commendable, if INEC had gone appeal to challenge the lower court verdict, the aim would have been defeated. The electronic transmission of results from Pulling Units to server by INEC is a welcome development, they deserves our support to take us to the promise Land.
